Complex Systems Connection: Separate Cause and Effect, Short and Long Term Conflicts. Using BOTGs showing age and abilities, students can gain an understanding of how actions in the present affect results in the future and how we might need to do more of what we don't want to do now (spending time studying instead of playing, for example) in order to reap the benefits in the future. |

We will examine some of the reinforcing and balancing loops that regulate human body systems, discuss how stock-flow models can be used in Physics and Mathematics, and look at challenging problems like coastal erosion through the lens of a systems thinker. After a presentation of the tools, participants will have time to meet with the presenters and explore some of their own ideas for use in their classes. |
