Subject: Exploring engineering ideas using Stock & Flow Models

Message:

Hi,

I have found several of the posts and answers on the list server over the past few months very helpful to me, but I haven't found anything that address my particular needs. I was wondering if any of you have any experience or materials on teaching engineering concepts using
system dynamics. I am preparing instruction for 11-12 graders who
are interested in becoming engineers and I would like to tailor my examples to match their interests. I am looking for examples that demonstrate linear growth/decay, exponential growth/decay and Logistic
(S-Shaped) Models in engineering fields. I want to keep it simple since many of the students haven't had any experience with System Dynamics.

Any ideas, direction or help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert Chritopherson
