Yes, software for system dynamics modeling has evolved, and some packages now include tools for converting DYNAMO models. At the same time, there is historical and educational value in seeing DYNAMO run and understanding how DYNAMO was constructed and used, perhaps even more so now as simulation tools have become especially easy to use. DYNAMO is a unique contribution in the world of computers and simulation of social, economic, and natural systems based on the principles of system dynamics. As we move into an era with many more simulation modeling tools and methods, it will be important to understand DYNAMO in order to understand the origins and history of system dynamics.
