I agree. The ST/SD discussion here has moved to the heart of the matter. The reference to the Federalist Papers is wonderful. Let's try to move it into classroom and everyday practice for the teachers.
Any examples as to how to illustrate and analyze or model these factors (human nature/psychology), their manifestations (factions/political parties), and relative force or influence on other system elements (for example intentional misinformation by funded by factions such as coal industry on social and political action on climate change vs public confusion caused by scientific "method" and debate within the legitimate scientific community)?
The concept of relative force or level of influence may greatly assist in identifying leverage points within a system.
Thanks. Mike
