I would suggest that population growth might not be as daunting a problem as it appears. I don’t have a citation on hand, but I believe that the biggest factor in a country’s birth rate is the level of economic opportunity afforded to women. That is why the birth rate tends to decline as incomes rise. Working for women’s rights, therefore, has a ripple effect on climate change etc.

I know from working with low-income, urban high school students, that those young women with a plan for their future after high school are much less likely to get pregnant than those without one.
