Excellent idea.
Of course the method section of a journal paper is supposed to cove that .. but rarely does, especially in social science where one is left wondering just how many miracles took place in the process!

Comments on why one has performed a specific action, why a particular option was taken at a decision point .. these are all points where the reader, or the model user needs info to help them decide if the model is correct.
