At the very beginning of our stock and flow discussion, Andy Ford sent me this e-mail with a PowerPoint document attached. I intended to extract the words from it and then send it on to you. Unfortunately ( or fortunately) my computer doesn’t like his PowerPoint ( possible Mac/Pc animosity problem) so I was forced to look up Chapter 2 in Modeling the Environment ( by Andrew Ford) . I highly recommend it as reading for those who are exploring the meaning of the concepts of stock and flow.
