I'm intrigued by the thoughtful consideration you are giving to the choice of your films for these students. Have you looked into viewing the film "Baraka"? It may fulfill your request for a film that covers our responsibility with the environment. While there is little (or maybe even no) dialogue in the film, "Baraka" really speaks to me on many levels, and the filmmaking is exquisite.
