Dear Richard:
Very interesting your comments on the concept of learning by teaching documented "Seneca the Younger" I mention it's a method I have been using since I was young, when I read some of the leagues that I share, I realize that some of its foundations are my family and myself I implemented in an intuitive and self-taught.
I taught my first class when I was in high school 2 boys of my age who failed in math, then I taught school while studying the fourth semester of chemistry and systems engineering at TEC de Monterrey, at that time was 20 old, then go to teach math pro at age 21 and was immediately hired as a chemical engineering professor lecturing my 22 years as material balance, transport phenomena and chemical engineering, applied computing, always told memyself did not know who learned more, if the students or the teacher. in my case learning by teaching has been fantastic.
I've been a lucky man, I have always followed this path of learning by teaching, think is important to share you this story that has been part of my life, I was also fortunate to teach in 1984-1985 the kind of chemical process simulation, years before Stella and development of simulation based on Forrester's stock and flows, so the SD way of thinking is familiar to me, everything is based on an old class called Material Balance I wore in 1976 when I came to study with a scholarship by the ITESM in Monterrey, was born in a village M. Muzquiz, Coahuila.
Since 2003 I started my learning Stella, Vensim, Simile and Anylogic and generate all our development of system dynamics in the company of my three sons Peter (28), Ruth (26) and Ramiro (23) and my wife Betty with the goal ofdevelop learning laboratories and business games applied to Universal and Mexican history, biology and pandemics, the environment, sustainable socio-economic problems, social problems of my country, urban dynamics and some business suits applied to the chain supply and distribution, all this is published in www.gruposinapsys.com in the league "Learning Labs(Laboratorios de Aprendizaje)" all with the aim of creating a new university and develop learning communities to improve the welfare of our community and my country
I mention all this as context for my interest in the issues to improve the educational programs of Mexico, who apparently has many areas of opportunity similar to your country as mentioned by Professor Forrester.
I congratulate you for your comments and especially your deep thinking.
Good night.
