Gene, Your post brings to mind a CSPAN panel discussion that I saw on 12/22/2010. It was moderated by Judy Feder and the focus was on the rocky road of implementing the Health Care Legislation. I was very impressed by Judy Feder...she summarized a paper that she and David Cutler had co-authored. I called the Center for American Progress Office to find out where to get a copy of their paper. I was put through to Judy Feder's office where I left a message. I was pleased with the easy access to people for the purpose of getting information. Her thinking, to me, is one of a systems thinker. I mention this because health care is a critical issue, and I see competent people engaging in the issue. I appreciate your comment about still learning about systems thinking (I apologize for putting it too simply). I have been timid about saying anything because of my elementary understanding of ST; however, I do have a feel for it, and I can recognize a systems approach. I learn from those examples that I find in the newspapers or on policy programs. People are asking how to use this forum for problem-solving. I think the more we develop an understanding of ST, then the more we apply it appropriately and naturally, and the systems in our area of influence will function better. This forum gives us a place to share what we are experiencing and trying to influence.
