Scott:
Could Barry's map serve as the foundation for the next renaissance in public education? Is there anything better out there?
What's the next step? We've got a useful STELLA roadmap from Barry Richmond, a comprehensive mental model of the current situation from John Raven, the concept of emotional intelligence from Daniel Goleman/Gallup and related research from the Canadian Education Association (CEA), etc. What's the missing puzzle piece?
From your question, my suggestion is you put in the center of Peter Senge's thinking, and insert what you comment on the following dimensions of the framework of Senge: 1. Personal Mastery 2. Share vision 3. Communication to develop work teams: (Here insert the talents of Gallup's work, social and emotional intelligence Goleman and Gardner's multiple intelligences. 4. Behavioral Modeling (You can get the model presented by Barry Richmond and cause-effect diagrams with HumanSigma performance of Gallup). 5. Systems Thinking (Here's a super model with the new policy inserted to visualize the impact of our decisions over time, this should create in the future, I have one called pollen. This to me would be the foundation that can sustain the renaissance of public and private education.
It is my suggestion.
