It might take a million years. But if we don't start it is less likely to happen. I agree that teachers and others imbued with the current system will be hard to change. But so was microlending when I first saw in working in Bangladesh. It is now world wide and growing.
So was homeschooling when Goodman, Illich and Holt suggested in in the 1970s. It now has by some estimates 2,000,000 practitioners in the USA. So three decades ago, were food co-ops, LETS, peer lending, credit unions, organic gardening, solar houses, CSAs and a myriad of other social innovations that now empower people and promote community self-reliance. There are thousands of each spread around the world.
The failures of the current school system, and the potentials for a radically different learning system are both rising. Some one needs to blaze the path. I might as well be you. Bill Ellis
