I'm in the process of putting together a collection of teaching stories from different religions on the theme of conflict resolution. I wondered: does anyone have any examples of such stories on the general system dynamics themes of, for example, "Fixes that Fail", or "Unforeseen Consequences"? I guess in the end I'm also looking for something on the theme of "Violence begets violence". I'm trying to get across the idea that obvious, straightforward solutions often amount to committing some kind of violence to the system, whereas lasting solutions require us to understand the system from within.
Now I know that's a bit much for one single story, but any components you can offer would be very helpful. The stories can come from any religious background, and can be either direct from scriptures or from later learning traditions. The more the merrier.
