Society for Organization Learning (SOL)
Posted by Lees Stuntz on 1/9/2006
Dear Listserve members,
As many of you know, Peter Senge has put a great deal of time and energy into both the sustainability movement and into K-12 education. He has donated his time and expertise to those of us who are interested in establishing system dynamics and learner centered learning in K-12 education.
The Society for Organization Learning (SOL) is an outgrowth of his work based on his book the Fifth Discipline, Within SOL there is a Sustainability Consortium made up of companies which are interested (through the individuals involved) in creating a sustainable future. That Consortium is meeting in Detroit in March and Peter thinks that the time is ripe for those companies to see the power of youth involved with the issues of sustainability.
Are there students out there who are interested in and have done(are doing) projects on global warming and the build-up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere using system dynamics tools?? He wants to raise the funds to get some of them to Detroit to present and talk to these companies at the meeting in March. He feels that student voices could help create significant momentum.
Do any of you have students who might be candidates for this experience??
Thanks, Lees
