I don't think it is necessary to be able to say what systems thinking is in order to use it, but those people who have a greater awarness of what it is and how it works have a greater control and fluency with it. It all starts with a simple thought and the knowledge that that thought will bounce outwordly into the enviroment and will affect other people as other people's thoughts do, in fact, affect everybody else. This will then increase your intuition or ability to pick things up from the people around you.
If I may, I would suggest the book "The circle" by Laura Day, and the movie "What the bleep do we know". Enjoy!
