During a discussion at WPI, Jay suggested a concept for a semester course which would start to teach the lessons of SD without teaching modeling. He suggested exploration of various classic models and also using games and simulations. Since we in the K-12 world are always exploring ways to teach our students concepts, I thought you all might be a good resource for this. Oleg Pavlov, one of the teachers of economics and system dynamics at WPI is especially interested in pursuing this concept for a course.
Jay, I would appreciate it if you would be willing to expand on your idea.
Has anyone any experience which they feel would be pertinent to this course? How do you get across the lessons of SD without extensive modeling training- or can you??
