I would love to see a contribution to the field in the area of bridging the digital divide. My organization's mission is to support learner-centered educational environemnts that are experiential, equitable, and ecological.
We beleive that all learning is naturally systemic and constructivist and that factory-model educational policies have thwarted the organic process of learning. Technology, our understanding of brain function, and globalization that has challenged our assumptions about communication, have intersected to create a rich context for shifting how learning can happen.
The economic crisis has actually contributed to the perfect storm for a disruptive innovation in education. What is appalling is the failure for otherwise compassionate people to see that many urban/rural, low income school districts are failing to provide the technological infrastructure to support integrated, sytemic learning. Bringing technological infrastructure/highways to a 21st century level seems like a much more sustainable and shovel-ready focus for job stimulus than potholes and lane expansions.

At least that is how it seems in Milwaukee, WI.
