Competition is a concept that desperately needs thinking through clearly. It seems to me that there is a finite amount of goods or 'good' that people compete for. It is expressed in social hierarchies, managerial systems as one example. A good, analytical look at competition throughout history could provide information that contradicts the 'trickle down' and the laissez faire theories, if people try to think it through without rationalizing what they find.
And those 'goods' now include the very universe we depend on for life.
