What a great thinker, Jared Diamond. I read all of his books.

I'm not concerned if China will dominate the world. But I'm more concerned that Asians will go through what Western countries have gone (in a negative sense) and will eventually realize that they have to work and live in a different way. I hope that it is not too late then.

People ask that China should pay attention to the pollution, human rights, etc. However, such requests are futile to parents in front of hungry/sick sons and daughters in addition to the greedy nature (in a good sense)of human beings. When the economically developed countries produce so much pollution, use so much energies, and live in a comfortable life, how can we (living in the economically developed countries) expect or ask the economically developing countries to limit their industrial development ?
