10 Most Critical Mathematical Principles

And which models (age-appropriate, for someone in 3rd or 4th grade) would best demonstrate the principle? Well, to start the ball rolling, I read a couple of weeks ago that there is a strong correlation between wealth as an adult and the ability to calculate with numbers.
I don't know what the connection is, but maybe it has to do with the ability to calculate which of two options is the more profitable. I also don't know what models would work well for teaching arithmetic calculation, particularly because SD models aim to demonstrate the results of a process, rather than the mechanics of calculating that result. But I'd love it if someone could come up with one.
