Epistemology using Systems Concepts

It seems to me that what Richard is talking about here comes under the headings of "social constructivism" and "enaction". Aren't these taught on Education degree programmes? I give an undergraduate course on systems thinking in science, in which I try to engender in students the basic idea that the world is not all the way it seems to us. It seems to me that the foundation for conveying this idea of Richard's is to undermine in (Education) students what Husserl called the "natural attitude" - the supreme confidence most of us have that the world just 'is' this way that seems to be. While I have no silver bullet for doing this, I do use a Powerpoint presentation of optical illusions to at least shake the confidence a little.
