My sense is that teachers generally do not have time to read journals. Faculty at schools of education and other people, like textbook and software publishers and educational consultants, read journals. It would be very interesting to do a survey of current teachers to find this out. Perhaps you could get an alumni office from a school of ed to collaborate on such a survey.
My experience in teaching system concepts is that it scares most preservice and inservice teachers. The brightest and most confident of my students take to the field and see its power immediately, but that's about 10% of each class. I think we need to teach the field using current educational jargon (unfortunately) and real classroom examples. I try to do this, but do not often succeed with the other 90% of my students. I will be glad to work with anyone who might be interested in writing an article. I would suggest aiming for one of the journals of the national educational associations - math, social studies, science, or reading.
